On December 4, 2023, automotive semiconductor startup BOS Semiconductor announced that it has been selected as a 2023 "First Penguin" startup by the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund.

Through the "First Penguin" program, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund carefully evaluates and selects the most promising startups with innovative ideas and high technlogical prowess, focusing on startups that are less than 7 years old. The term "First Penguin" refers to upstart companies that, like penguins jumping into the sea headfirst, boldly take on new challenges and uncertainties. The program provides government support in the form of credit guarantee to selected startups by evaluating their business feasibility, distinctiveness, and technological strengths. It is designed to discover and closely support startup companies with the potential to grow into future unicorns.
