BOS Semiconductors has been selected by the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups as a participating company in the Innovation Sector Startup Package program of the "Super-gap Startup 1000+ Project". The "Super-gap Startup 1000+ Project" is a program that aims to incubate the most promising Korean startups with unique technological capability to compete in the global stage in ten core areas identified by the Korean government as essential for securing future national competitiveness. Such core areas include semiconductors, bio/healthcare and next-generation nuclear energy. The government plans to invest 2 trillion Korean Won over the next five years into this program.

BOS Semiconductors is a fabless company that develops ultra high-performance, low-power semiconductor SoCs (system-on-chips) that can implement functions required for future mobility such as autonomous driving. BOS Semiconductors was selected for this program due to its founding team’s rich experience in semiconductor design and development as well as its unique technological capabilities. In addition, the company aims to successfully compete in the global stage for autonomous driving semiconductors, which is one of the key strategic areas identified by the Korean government in its medium- to long-term national R&D roadmap.

By participating in this program, BOS Semiconductors can receive up to 600 million Korean Won over three years to fund its product commercialization efforts and up to 500 million Korean Won over two years to cover R&D costs. It will also be able to participate in programs hosted by specialized agencies (technology commercialization, global cooperation, investment relations, etc.) that will help the company secure global innovation leadership.

BOS Semiconductors plans to recruit core R&D personnel and establish development infrastructure through the support received from this program. Such support is expected to help BOS Semiconductors achieve global market entry through unique technological development and commercialization of its SoC products.
